What are the binding forms of books?

Book binding is accompanied by the development of human civilization. In different historical periods, due to the innovation and improvement of materials, different binding forms are presented. Whether it is from a scroll or an album, all of them show the wisdom of the ancient people. The traditional Chinese book binding form has a great influence and inspiration on the modern book binding design.
The scroll package with brocade as the material brings the concept of fabric into the cover design of the book, so that the choice of materials for modern books reflects the beauty of texture and cultural charm; the binding form of butterfly clothing is an innovation of the traditional book binding form. The functions used are closer to people's reading habits, and it is the prototype of modern books. Binding books are recognized as "Chinese books" in the world. Whether it is the binding form or the layout settings of rows, columns, cards, and circles, they all reflect the full meaning. The "binding" of the book, that is, the overall design from the inside to the outside, shows the elegant beauty of the book. "Frame" refers to a page of paper, and "binding" means binding. At present, the binding methods on the market mainly include saddle stitching, flat stitching, sewing thread binding, wireless adhesive back binding, and spiral ring binding. Each binding method has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the format and thickness of the book are also important reasons for determining the binding method of the book.
Saddle stitching refers to binding at the center folds that are connected to the left and right. The binding process is fast, the cost is low, and it can be fully opened, but it is suitable for thinner books, so the number of pages in the book is limited. Side stitch is binding on one side of the book with thread or wire, the book cannot be fully unfolded, and it is not suitable for thicker books. Thread-locking is to stitch the prepared signatures into a book block with thread strings. Since the lock thread is centered in the middle of the book block, the book can be completely opened, but the disadvantage is that it is easy to fall off pages over time.
Glue-back binding is divided into wireless glue-back binding and sewing glue-back binding. Glue-free binding refers to the method of gluing the signatures with glue. After binding, the spine has a good flatness, which is suitable for thick books, and it is also suitable for books to be fully opened for reading. It is a good multi-page binding method; Binding is a combination of the characteristics of "locking thread" and "glue back". The signature is first bound into a book with thread, and then glued firmly. This binding method with the length of the two is used for most book bindings.
Plastic Binding Cover is very different from the previous binding methods. Each page of the book is strung on the spiral ring in a scattered state, and the pages can also be fully unfolded when reading, which is usually suitable for relatively thick paper. Thin paper will form tear marks at the edge of the paper at a distance from the spiral ring under long-term reading, resulting in the phenomenon of page drop. When the signature is bound, the number of pages should also be determined according to the size of the spiral ring. It is necessary to leave enough space for the spiral ring. Too thick is not conducive to reading.
